Thermal Imaging

What is thermal imaging?  All objects emit infrared radiation.  While this is invisible to the human eye, infrared imagers detect and convert these invisible wavelengths into visible light images that are displayed on a screen.  Signs of moisture intrusion will appear cooler.  Simply put, this non-contact, non-destructive procedure is useful for inspecting temperature variations within a structure.  Thermal imaging can be used when problems are suspected in the following areas but their causes are not apparent to the naked eye:

Electrical (faulty wiring behind walls)

Energy efficiency (heat loss)

Foundation issues behind finished walls

HVAC equipment fault detection

Insulation issues (missing, damaged or wet)

Concealed moisture intrusion

Radiant floor heating
